
Mung Dal khichdi is one the the famous Indian dish which use in lunch mostly. its quick to cook and really affordable for every person. Kids like it very much.
Mung dal Khichdi Recipe

Baking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredient List:
1 cup rice
½ cup yellow mung dal
4 to 5 curry leaves
2-3 dried red chillies
1 tbsp garam masala
a pinch of asafoetida
½ tbsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp of ground cumin and desiccated
coconut powder
2 tbsp oil
Salt and sugar to taste
Freshly grated coconut and coriander for garnishing
Instructions:
Step1:Clean and wash the rice and dal and mix them.
Step2:Soak and drain the dal and rice mixture and keep for about 15 mins.
Step3:Heat oil, add curry leaves and dried red chillies and asafetida.
Step4:Add the soaked and drained rice and dal mixture and add turmeric powder and mix well.
Step5:Add 3 cups of hot water and mix well.
Step6:Now add the garam masala,ground cummin and desiccated coconut powder, salt and sugar and mix well.
Step7:Cook in pressure cooker/rice cooker till done.
Step8:Garnish with freshly grated coconut and coriander. or till you feel the meat is tender.
Step9:Ready to serve.
